The Story Behind the Backup Gear Rack
Back in 2022, I designed my first backup gear rack—not as a business idea, but as a personal solution for organizing and carrying my climbing gear. I used it for about a year and a half without fully realizing the potential of what I had created. Then, a climber from Chile I connected with through a partner-finder Facebook page saw my setup and was instantly intrigued. He asked if I could sell him one, and luckily, I had a spare.
After just a week of using it, he was blown away by how convenient and effective it was. His excitement sparked something in me. He said, “We need to take this to Squamish and share it with others.” So, I did.
The response was incredible. Climbers loved the design, and word spread fast. Over 100 happy customers later, the Backup Gear Rack has become more than just a personal project—it's a tool that’s helping climbers stay organized and ready for anything.
